Archeon So  Maui'Phi  has a main objective to save whole Universe and it's bound by those thoughts you can change it in the beginning but  you're stuck with your decision till the end of the game, so Maui'Phi growth only happens if old Universe's fungoid Planets could be saved or atleast Colony could be saved.

You can think of Laiynnas the Space Squids of the Universe these Creatures are the Great Migrators so they don't have settlement but they Migrate in Herds and Great Numbers they destroy everything that attacks them or threatens them Speared Migrators  Closed Factional Herds.(Special Traits)  Dependent. The Squid herds has unique Tech-Traits Heard Science. Sentient Diplomacy. Matlings. So  Laiynnas   has a main objective to save all of their herd before they loose them so they are trying to find paths in between Universes the new herds will add up as and when you create a path between two Universes, this will increase the growth.
